I wrote this poem to share grief and hope…

…as we watched COVID run rampant. We watched our federal government slaughter people with sheer neglect. We watched people in India and Palestine suffer inhumane treatment, as our own elected officials stood by, or worse, collaborated. The pain continues.

So, my friend Kelly Hayes, and some talented creatives joined efforts to create a moment to gather, acknowledge, and grieve our collective losses and pain. The result was an event called ‘Our Grieving Hands Will Build It.’ I read it live during the event, and then Kelly published it later in a blog article, sharing a variety of moving works from the event.
